This role works as part of a team in assisting the Broadcast Negotiators on the negotiation, placement and maintenance of Spot Television and Radio schedules. Duties include assisting in negotiation, minimizing backlog, providing administrative support, and completing assigned tasks to assist the Broadcast Negotiators. Our Assistant Broadcast Negotiators are also expected to assist with tasks that are not directly related to their normal responsibilities, but is essential to the Department. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES .Review buy specification and request station avails as required .Order schedules, obtain confirmations, provide negotiation assistance to secure confirmations Input and maintain schedules in the relevant computer systems .Create and maintain contact logs .Check contracts against buy sheet and handle any discrepancies with station reps .Obtain and review all make-good offers and assist in negotiating acceptable make-goods .Review and resolve billing discrepancies .Set up and maintain weekly tracking reports .Work with networks to ensure quarterly/annual delivery .Ensure appropriate spots run and provide post-buy analysis .Work closely with our buyers to learn negotiation skills Maintain all buying plans .Maintain updated records of all moves and changes GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS .Bachelors degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications .Although no media experience is required an internship with an advertising/media agency is strongly preferred .Excellent verbal and written skills .Strong quantitative and analytical skills .Exceptional organizational skills, multi-tasking capabilities and aptitude for being detail oriented .Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team .Computer literate with proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPoint Excellent work ethic and the ability to work under pressure .Knowledge of basic media math and analytical techniques is desirable
