About Us

Purpose and Goals

 

▪ To unify all Alumnae Arethusa Sisters in the spirit of Arethusa herself.

▪ To preserve the History and Rituals of all known chapters of Arethusa by:

       a. Establishing an Arethusa Sorority-Sigma Gamma Phi Archive.

b. Publishing a book on the founding of the Arethusean Society.

       c.  Publishing a Ritual/ Sister Handbook.

       d. Establishing a Arethusa Sorority-Sigma Gamma Phi National Membership Directory.

▪ To recognize dedicated Sisters and honored members.

▪ To establish the following for the benefit of Alumnae Sisters:

      a.  Lost and Found Sisters.

      b.  Arethusa paraphernalia.

      c.  Sister Eternal.

▪ To offer assistance to the Undergraduate Sisters in their scholarly and social pursuits via:

      a.  Financial advice.

      b.  Recruitment advice.

 

Arethusa Sorority National Membership Directory

 

The AUAA in its efforts to preserve the History of Arethusa, has created the National Arethusa Membership Directory.

Its purpose is to record the names of the women who became Sisters of the Arethusa Sorority.

There is no fee or charge to have your name recorded in this historic document, which includes the names of the Founding Members of 1870.

There is no obligation.  Register now.

 

Officers and Meetings

 The AUAA Executive Board consist of the following officers:

President, Vice President, Treasurer,  Historian, and Social Coordinator.

Other AUAA Officers are the Chapter Liaisons and Committee Chairpersons.

Meetings are held quarterly.  Special meetings may be called if necessary. AUAA members are encouraged but not required to attend meetings,  with the exception of the Executive Board Officers.

Membership

 Is Free.  However Donations are Gratefully Accepted!


Membership Entitlements

1. Discounts on Arethusa Paraphernalia.

2. Submit articles and photos to the newsletter.

3. Voting privileges on AUAA issues if present at meetings.

4. An opportunity to become a Chapter Liaison. (attendance at meetings not required)

5. An opportunity to hold an AUAA Executive Board Position if present at two meetings prior to nomination.

The AUAA offers you two Donation methods.

Option A: by Check made payable to Arethusa United Alumnae Association and sent to

Option B: via PayPal using Visa, Master Card, American Express, or Discover Card.

Upon receipt of Donation a Confirmation Letter and Thank-you Gift will be sent.
